The Long Way Down
THE LONG WAY DOWN is for those wishing to experience riding in Northern Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh Trail in one trip.ย
The Long Way Down usually finishes in Hoi An, just 30km’s down the road from Da Nang as we’ll have ridden the Ho Chi Minh Trail and visited many sites by this point and for many groups 12 days is long enough.ย However, for those with the time available we also run this tour to ho Chi Minh City and the length of this tour would be a minimum of 20 days, depending on rest days.
This is an Epic Adventure with beginning at the roof of Indochina, Fansipan Mountain, riding through tea plantations, rice terraced valleys, dense jungles and along miles of sandy beach paths.ย ย Riding through so many provinces and different tribal regions, everything will change and you’ll feel like you’re in a different country at times.
Your Adventure
This Adventure can take in lot of the Vietnam War Historical sites.ย Riding both North and South of the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) we’ll see relics from both the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) and Viet Cong and south of the DMZ more of the US and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN).
Starting at Sa Pa the City in the Clouds, we’ll work our way south through National Parks, Nature Reserves and Unesco World Heritage sites, breath taking views on every corner and a great mixture of riding.ย
Further south, weโll boat into cave systems used by the NVA and stop at the Khe Sanh American Army base, Reunification Bridge and Vinh Moc tunnels along with many other sites, such as the City of Ghosts, the infamous Hai Van pass, Da Nang the Au Sau Valley, Hamburger Hill, a Champa Kingdom Temple in the Jungle with B52 Bomber bomb tracks throughย it and finish our tour in Hoi An Ancient Trading Port.
